My staff is compiling a
bibliography of African-American writers of young adult literature and we
were asked if  Christopher Collier or his brother, James Lincoln Collier,
authors of My Brother Sam Is Dead, War Comes to Willie Freeman, and Jump
Ship To Freedom are African-Americans.

Something About the Author, vol 70, has photos of both Christopher (p.36) and
James Lincoln (p.40).  They are caucasian.
