Congratulations to Merry Kahn, a School Librarian, and her students at
Briggs Elementary School in Maquoketa, Iowa for their Orphan Train project.
They have been studying the Orphan Trains that delivered orphans from New
York City from the 1800s until the early part of this century. They did
hypercard stacks, made a web page etc. for this project. Their efforts
have been broadcast by Channel Six news of Devenport, Iowa for the last
three nights. A great learning project for Merry's students and great
public relations for Maquoketa Schools and School Librarians.
