        From Claire Whelihan, Thacher M.S., Attleboro, MA comes this
retype of an Oct, 1995 message:

"...the correct chronological order for the Redwall series is:
        1.  Martin the Warrior
        2.  Mossflower
        3.  Redwall
        4.  Mattimeo
        5.  Mariel of Redwall
        6.  Salamandastron
        7.  Bellmaker

However, one person reported that Brian Jacques himself stated (at a talk
she atended) that they should be read in order of publication"
That would make the order:
        1.  Redwall
        2.  Mossflower
        3.  Mattimeo
        4.  Mariel of Redwall
        5.  Salamandastron
        6.  Martin the Warrior
        7.  Bellmaker
        8.  Outcast   (I added this and I think it would be 8 on the
other list)
