If you can buy books like Bound to Stay Bound you get durable bindings,
pictures on the covers and dust jackets that can be used for bulletin
boards.  We cut our jackets in half, then we file the fronts by subject
and cut the backs in bookmark size strips.  The students check the
bookmark basket every day and love the colorful bookmarks.  If the backs
are part of the cover illustration, we keep the jacket intact and display
it as designed.  We just took down a beautiful display of fall leaf and
pumpkin covers.  We've learned that the books that match the bulletin
board covers are checked out often while that display is up.
