Reading in the Content Area

We have had a teacher request to look for research on improving scores
for testing reading for information.  Any success stories out there about
reading instruction that has improved reading scores for content area
information?  What works for one school may work for another.  Thanks

Thanks to everyone for sending greetings for our open house and for my
request for animal books too.  I am now the "Czarina of Information" in
our building!
