TECH: ClarisWorks into Pine

I have geography students who need to compose keypal letters in ClarisWorks
3.0, save them to a disk, and bring them to the library to be sent using
Pine 3.91.  I have been experimenting with this and am having problems.
I copy the document to the clipboard, then open Reflections, get into
Pine.  Then when I try to paste the letter into Compose Message, it gets
all garbled.  Several sentences may be OK, and then it will start
skipping letters and parts of sentences.  Three paragraphs may end up
being only 5 or 6 lines.  Any suggestions?

If necessary we can have the students type directly into Pine, but we
would prefer to have them use ClarisWorks so the teacher can read the
messages before they are sent.
