Hi group,

I posted a question recently asking what other automated schools do about
handling due dates. What a response I got! Over 60 people responded and I
thank all of you very much. Here's what I found out. Date due slips
inserted in the book are used by 23 people. 18 people just chucked the
whole thing and don't use any kind of slip. 10 people still stamp date dues
in the back of the book. An interesting sideline to the people who do stamp
books is that 6 of those responding have students stamp their own books.
There were a number of other variations on what I've reported, but these
I've listed had the most reponses.

As for what I will do? My library is split into Lower School (elementary)
and Middle School sections so for Lower School students I will not stamp
anything. They are usually very good about bringing books back the next
week and are regularly scheduled to come to the library. For Middle School
students, I will have the stamp available, and if they think they need a
reminder about when the books are due they can stamp their own books.

Thanks again for all your help.
