First day/First week

Isn't it ironic that without automation all we had to do to begin
circulation was to open the door.  Students could sign the card and leave
with a book.  Now that we have computers, we have to have all the student
data in the computers before circulation can begin!

Our automated system went online last February so this is the first year
that we have begun a year using computers.  It has been the most hectic and
time-consuming beginning I can remember!  While I have been open, I have
looked at the lock on the door with great longing! :)
