I've been reading with interest the new job/first day messages. I realize now how lucky I am. We all have different situations -- our story is rather unusual. Last year we rented another building for several of our programs (we are a vocational high school) with the expectation that our levy would pass in November (it didn't). We went back to the polls in March, againg it didn't pass. We lost our lease to the building but the company that owned it allowed us to keep everything in the building until the August 6 special election. We lost by 4 votes with 68 walk in votes to be counted on August 20. We had no choice but to pack everything and move it back to the north campus (Electronics, CAD/Drafting, Computer Technology were just 3 of the labs located at the south campus). On August 20 we won by 18 votes. School started the 26th. and on the 21st we turned around and moved everthing back to south campus. My library went from having adequate space to having to share the teacher's workroom to store my equimpment to getting everything back to the way it was last year. Plus I now have the conference room that I can use for the ACTV that we have. It has been a roller coaster start to our school year. But I will be able to automate my library, hopefully starting the preliminary work this year. It is going to be exciting -- I will also have a media center at the south campus, I'm starting to look at furniture, etc. Emily Jean Emily Jean Honaker, Media Specialist EMILY_H@TRECA.OHIO.GOV Delaware JVS The Area Career Center 1610 St. Rt. 521, Delaware, Ohio 43015-9001 Dreams are where we want to go -- work is how we get there.
