"It's New!...by Manes

I would like to hear from someone who has used the book "It's New!
It's Improved! It's Terrible!" by Stephen Manes (c.1989) as a read-aloud
for 4th, 5th, or 6th graders.
It fits right into the subject of critical thinking about information,
especially (but not limited to) advertising information.

If you read it out loud, did the kids enjoy it?
