TECH: computer salvage

Hello all,

What does one do with obsolete computers?  I believe I remember reading
about a company that recovers all of the valuable metals??? etc. ?  Is this
common?  Does anyone know of a company in Michigan or northern Ohio or
Indiana that wants old equipment?  Just curious.  I have a few Burroughs
pieces that were "donated".  Also, a potpourri of other pieces.  What do
you think?
