Rubenstein Phone/Fax: 516-598-4619 E-mail: prattnet@ix.netcom.com Library Policies Wanted Neal-Schuman Publishers, Inc., and Pratt Institute's Graduate School of Information and Library Science announce that they are soliciting library policies to be considered for inclusion in a new CD-ROM, _The Complete Library Policy Toolkit_, the first electronic compilation of policies from all types of libraries. Libraries whose policies are selected for inclusion will be acknowledged in the Toolkit. All libraries which submit their policies for consideration will receive a coupon good for a discount off the purchase of the CD-ROM (price is not yet set). Libraries of all types are asked to send their copies of their policies for consideration by the product's Editorial Board. The Editors are especially interested in receiving policies from libraries with recently developed or revised manuals. Policies from public, academic, school, and special libraries are needed for developing the project. _The Complete Library Policy Toolkit_ will consist of a CD-ROM and a 50-75 page paperback book. The CD-ROM will contain the complete text of library policies from public, academic, school, and special libraries; the book will contain practical information and advice on writing and implementing policies and on the difference between policies and procedures. The CD-ROM will be searchable; users will be able to copy text from the CD-ROM into their word-processing programs or other application. The book will also include some survey type information based on the collected policies (e.g.: how many charge for ILL, etc.). The Complete Library Policy Toolkit will be published by Neal-Schuman Publishers, Inc. in late 1997. Members of the Editorial Board are: Arlene Bielefield, Esq., Assistant Professor, School of Library Science/Instructional Technology, Southern Connecticut State University; Alice Calabrese, Executive Director, Chicago Library System; Kay Ann Cassell, Associate Director for Programs & Services, The Branch Libraries, The New York Public Library; Julie Cummins, Coordinator of Children's Services, The New York Public Library; Janet Swan Hill, Associate Director for Technical Services, University of Colorado-Boulder Libraries; Jane Light, Director, Redwood City (CA) Public Library; Sally Mason-Robinson, Library and Motion Media Consultant; Kathleen De La Pena Heim McCook, Dean, School of Library and Information Studies, University of South Florida; Tamara Miller, Director of Library Systems, University of Tennessee-Knoxville; JoAnn G.
