at the Kdg. level--but would work for all--every kid brought in 100
somethings--then at the end they passed them out and shared-little
stuff-100 pennies,100 tootsie rolls,100 stickers,etc.

Hi Donna,
Our students have collected 100 items for our local food bank.

AND ONE MORE HIT: Origianlly I asked if anyone had any ideas to celebrate when
we have been in school 100 days. These are the ideas I received and I thought
they were pretty clever!! Thanks everyone!! Donna Walters

We get a 100 pound block of ice, let the kids guess how long it will take to
melt, and watch it all day. This should be interesting even to middle
schoolers.

Hi,
Try a display case filled with various items and the kids have to say if
there are more than, less than or exactally 100 of what ever it is. For
ex a chain of paperclips"piled" on top of itself; a container of
pencils; a jar of red hots; a bag of noodle shapes; a pile of bottle
caps, A stack of cards whatever.
We also had each class (could be individual students) create an
interesting sentence containing exactally 100 letters. They can also
identify words that = 100 saying A=1 B=2 C=3...j=10.....Z=26. Make a
list as they discover them. We had a bulletin board with questions such
as Name a building with 100 stories in it, or list things you could eat
100 of at a sitting or what you could buy for $100 or list things that
have 100 or more parts (a tossed salad, a computer, a car etc.)
Hope this gets you thinking.
