ELEM: historical fiction about Mexico

One of my fourth grade teachers has a student from Mexico who speaks little
English and is very shy. She is hunting for a historical fiction book about
Mexico that she can order for her class to read to hopefully help the little
girl feel more a part of the class. If you know of anything on about 3-5th
grade level, I would appreciate hearing from you. It would be great if you
could send the name of the author and publisher as well.
