LM_NET: Library Media Networking

I am new this year on the high school scene and am faced with a tough
decision.  One of our departments has an extensive book collection in its
resource room.  These are books which were purchased with department, not
library money.  The library has a satellite of our computer network in this
area to circulate textbooks.  The assistant who works there would like to
add these other books to our database to ease circulation.  She would like
to do a title only entry.  My feeling is that if they are in our library
database they should be cataloged like library books to ensure
accessibility.  Has anyone else had a situation like this?  Obviously I am
not making this decision on my own without talking to this group of
teachers and district media people, but your input/ experiences would be
appreciated.
