Book Character Dress Up Day-Ideas?

LM Netters,
        Our primary school will be having a Book Character Dress Up Day on the
last Friday of April.  I would really like to "dress the part" but find
that my imagination is on vacation.  In the past, we have had "The Cat
in the Hat," "Caps for Sale," and similar titles.  I would like to do
something different--BUT EASY!  Do any of you have ideas for an easy but
recognizable costume to represent a book character (remember K-2's only
know "Easy Book" characters!).
