Frances, we have had a problem with that, too, on occasion, but our network guys resolved it. I *think* SIRS was the culprit that caused the problems. (We also have SIRS and Gale's Discovering Careers on CDs.) The way they explained it to me was that some of the DLL files are so similar in construction that each CD just grabs an existing DLL and adds or changes commands to operate it. That messes it up for use of the others. Since I'm not a techie, I'm sure that is an oversimplified explanation, but it's something like that. I'm not sure how they resolved the problem, but they finally did. We can now use any CD we need at any computer that is networked. We use Novell right now but we are going to Windows NT. Windows NT is currently throughout the building, and the library will be added when they have time to deal with it.
