Our ELEM and HS libraries are not automated and we still use the "old
fashion" method of having patrons sign the card and we stamp a due date
for circulation.
Help me understand something: Because of the Privacy Act, when an
item is returned should we be marking out the signature on the signed
card so that no one will be able to trace "who-checked-out-what"? Are
there specific rules on this? Our public library has done this for years...
do any of you? And if so, what kind of marker do you use for a complete
cover-up? (Magic Markers just don't do the trick:-).
BTW, I've tried to find this in the archives.
Thanks a million for your help!!
