THis is an old o.p. book I am sure. But here in the northeast it is very appropriate. Really Spring by Gene Zion. In the story the calendar says it is spring, but it doesn't seem like it is. So a little boy suggests they paint the city buildings, bridges etc. with flowers, ponds, fish, grass. Then it rains and all the paint is washed away. Susan Roscoe Duffield Elem.
