Library Humor -- We just didn't understand each other!

Today a fifth grader was too polite or confused to say "Wake up, we're
not communicating."  He asked me for books on pelicans.  As I showed him
all the lovely books on birds (I had been frequently asked today for
animal-related books.), he repeated that he needed a book on pelicans.
I replied that we probably didn't have just on book on PELICANS.  I
tried to talk him into one one flightless birds and waders (Are they
flightless?  I don't know for sure.)  One braver but equally From
