GEN: ancestors, Civil War

I have several students who are trying to find out information about their
ancestors who were involved in the American Civil War.  I have visited Ms.
Schrock's site as well as ancestry.com but at most can locate only birth dates.
Does anyone happen to know of sites to do with the Civil War and the people who
fought in it?  If you can be of help, please contact me directly as we are on
vacation next week.
