Video Editing Equipment

Hi!

Is there anyone who has information on the lower priced (about $5,000)
JVC Desktop Editing system?  I'd like to hear from someone who has used
this setup....pros and cons....We're considering purchasing it  for our
school.

I'd also like to hear suggestions any of you who have done video editing
on other equipment.  Have you used computers in your editing?
