OK, I tried to resist but I have to give in and respond. > Check any > computer software catalog and compare the numbers of products listed for > Mac's and those for PC/MS-DOS/WINDOWS. > I thought Mac was dead 3 years ago when I didn't see any Mac stuff in the stores and maybe one model of Mac on sale at Comp USA. Then I started seeing Macs at Sears, then another big computer chain (the name escapes me) opened up and they sold lots of Macs and Mac clones and had a section of Mac software. Then MacHome Journal started up, then MacAddict magazine. The people who read these magazines are DEVOTED. I see the Macs used in movies, for special effects, in addition to the advertising. I read about Macs being used in lots of companies - not just for desktop publishing. I get 5 different mail order companies trying to sell me Mac software. I'm not counting them out yet. It would be a shame, IMHO, for Apple to die. I have had a 15 station Mac lab in my LMC for the last 6 years. We've had to send something out twice. I've certainly had a lot more problems with the IBM clones I also have in my LMC. I don't have time to mess with DOS. Although I must admit since IBMs started turning into MACs (with WINDOWS) :) they've become a lot more user friendly. The statistics on repairs do show Mac cost less for a district according to what I've read.(I don't know where. -Jan Jan Ziglin Library Media Specialist Elmbrook Middle School janicez@execpc.com
