This may be information you already have, but...
The National Park System has great web sites of all the major
monuments/parks across
the U.S.  For endangered animals, check out www.audubon.com/.  In fact,
they are doing a neat thing now with kids tracking the snow geese.
Of course you can always check with ICONnect site, part of ALA/AASL.  They
always have something.
