Recommendations for English class sets

My English teachers are looking for recommendations for Class Sets of fiction
books.

First, the easy one -- 10th grade Honors class.  Any topic, era, country etc.
  I suggested a few titles but would welcome other suggestions.

Second -- Senior (non-honors) English.  The teacher is looking for a Brit Lit
title, fun and modern, maybe along the lines of Jurassic Park.  This will be
taught next spring and she needs something to combat senior-itis!
