TARGET>HOW TO BEGIN AR WITH A BANG??

Help!!!!!!!!! We are beginning Accelerated Reader on Wed. and have many
classes and teachers signed up --7th and 8th grade classes in a middle
school of 950 kids--we are not doing extrinsic rewards--I'm with Alfie Kohn
on this--I thought we were all set--but now I am worried that I need
something really powerful to grab the students' attention and interest when
they first are presented this program--I plan to have the AR books
everywhere in the LMC--on the tables, etc.
and talk about some in particular--to complicate things, I am there only
half time (I have another middle school library)--so my clerk will have to
replicate what I do.

We spent $45,000 on software and books--my principal is excited and of
course expects huge results as do I.

Any ideas for me???
