Target: MID: Books for Christian boys

In my middle school, I have a very quiet, sincere boy who is obviously very
devoted to his Christian faith. He is probably Catholic, and not of a more
fundamental sect. Our poor collection is so lacking in everything, and he
is constantly looking for books on bible stories, bible lands, etc. I would
really like to have suggestions for some good books for him, since I am
placing orders right now and would love to have something worthy of his
attention and not those old 1950 things that are falling apart at the
seams. Please suggest if you can.
