I just submitted my review of "That's a Fact, Jack" to Multimedia Schools magazine. The program will require money just like Electronic Bookshelf and Accelerated Reader. I think the game show atmostphere will appeal to students and complements the other reading programs. The depth of question and requiring "HOTS" (Higher Order Thinking Skills) is the star of the program. As you experiment with you demo, you will see there are many neat features for administering the program. You can hear the audio comments and you can select the number of questions etc. I think one drawback is the nice extra feature of the sidebar which allows students to buzz in from their desk rather than crowding around the computer keyboard. Additional test cd-roms are expensive. I think we will use the program to add excitement to the other reading program at Schenck. The cost of the program and how long students like the game show format are things to consider before purchasing. For anyone interested, visit the Follett web site and request the free demo.
