Netter's, Have any of you had experience in a Pre/K-3 or 4-5 school? The school I am in at this time is a Pre/K-5 school. My school, as well as, two other schools will split sometime next year to become Pre/K-3 (primary) schools. Our 4-5 graders will all go to a new school (elementary) together. I am considering applying for the media position, but I want to make a wise decision for the move. I am very happy where I am. Currently we have between 380-400 students. Once our 4-5 grades leave we will drop to around 250-280 students. I believe that my position would still be full-time. We still do not know for sure what will happen with the 5 empty classrooms, but we have heard that the most likely proposal will be that these rooms will be used for self-contained BD and/or severely handicapped. One school in our system is overcrowded with these students of special needs. If you have been in a Pre/K-3 or a 4-5 situation, I would appreciate hearing the advantages/disadvantages you perceive.
