REF: Radio

Hello Netters!

One of our patrons thinks RADIO is an acronym.  The only
information I can find is that it is a shortened form of radio
telegraphy or radio telegrapher.  Anyone out there know what it
might be?  Please e-mail any responses to me.  Thanks!
