ELEM: transition book from fiction to non-fiction

To all LM_NETERS,

A first grade teacher in my school is looking for a book to use with
her class that will act as a transition between fiction books and
non-fiction.  One title we looked at was "How many days to America",
but she has already used it for a different lesson.  She came in and
said she was braindead on the topic and it was totally contagious, so I
immediately went braindead too.  If you have any ideas we would love to
have them.
