This is a long request. Sorry in advance. After having spent the past couple of year disassembling our Apple IIe lab in favor of a Power Macintosh lab, we have primary teachers who want the drill and practice software back. I am having a difficult time supporting this since I don't feel this is the best use of these powerful machines. However, I think this is a battle I will lose. So, can you make recommendations on drill and practice software for the Macintosh computer which would be similar to all the MECC Apple IIe software? OR can you point me in the direction of some good research discussing a primary students ability to use higher order thnking skills to demonstrate understanding of concepts such as money and time. These are the two concepts out primary teachers claim to "teach" using the drill and practice software. If you know of articles discussing the need to bypass drill and proctice in favor of productivity oriented software, I would also appreciate those. -- *#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#* Monica Kemp * Media Specialist * "People say that life is the Excelsior Elementary * thing, but I prefer reading." 441 Oak Street * --Logan Pearsall Smith Excelsior, MN 55331 * #*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*
