Hi. Jane,
Most popular games are of course soccer and tennis. A lot of the games your
collegue is probably looking for have almost disappeared, i. e. marbles.

These are popular games:
Sachhuepfen      sack race
Eierlaufen           egg race
Seil huepfen      skipping
Katz und Maus  cat and mouse ( The cat is outside, the mouse inside of a circle
of students. )
