First of all, thank you to the many many people who wrote to
help me. Not only did I receive good ideas to try, I was
comforted to know that stuck diskettes are not unusual and that
I would probably not "break" the computer trying to get this
one out. Thanks so much!!!
Here are the ideas I rec'd:
Use a paper clip inserted into the little hole
Pick up the CPU and shake the diskette out
W/large paper clip "hook" fish out metal piece
If metal piece comes off, use a slender screwdriver to
  retrieve it
Use 3x5 cards to fit on top of bottom of disk, insert paper
clip to activate spring, use tweezers to pull disk out
Brute force, forceps, dismatle CPU if necessary
  Use a Post-it note
Use slim knives or nail files after opening up CPU

Wish me luck as I try to extract that rascal Monday!
Julia
