GEN: China visit

I will be in China from January 18-February 2, attending a conference
on earthquake prediction and disaster mitigation. Anyone on our
listserv in China? I will be attending a conference most of the time,
then trying to set up some partner schools between one or two Chinese
schools and their US counterparts. We hope to learn how children in
the classroom monitor for the precursors of earthquakes in China and
then set up a small pilot program in California. We would also like to
create communication among the children from different cultures.
I feel that they have a lot more in common than all their differences.

I will be temporarily off LM_NET for a couple of weeks very soon
as I make my trip preparations. Write me right away if you want to get
e-mail from the conference. No promises, but I will do what I can.
