What about this  version --- taught 'to the tune of a hickory stick' to
third graders at St. Edward's !!!!  EEK. It's been FORTY years : )

30 days hath September, April, June and November,
All the rest hath 31,
Except February, which alone hath 28,
Until leap year comes, one year in four,
And adds to that one - one day more.
