So how come there is no mention in the library press re: the latest flaps
about the San Francisco Public Library, and its new Main building?

Both the SF Chronicle and Examiner have carried articles about Mayor Willie
Brown's dissatisfaction with Ken Dowlin's management and latest staff
reduction ideas.
Mayor Brown is even threatening to take over the library and run it hisself
-- which would certainly be of interest to the profession, eh?
