Keep a shelflist???

Hello LM_NETTERS -

Now that I have been automated (SIRS Mandarin) for a couple years, I
wonder why I'm maintaining a shelflist.  What's the consensus out
there?  Please let me know if you have abandoned your shelflist or if
there is something sacrilegious about my wanting to do so.  I run a
one person library; books from vendors still come with catalog cards,
but I run into trouble with the many gift books I receive.  I use
Mitinet to catalog these, but after the MARC record  is safe and
sound in my Mandarin system, I remember I still have to make a paper
shelflist record.  Do I?
