I'm sure someone can help me! A concerned 6th grade teacher came to me today for a recommendation of a book she can read to her class. One of her student's fathers passed away this week and she is looking for a story to read to the rest of the class to help them understand what he is feeling at this time. I would think maybe even a picture book-- something that could help introduce the issue and begin a discussion. I'm sure, sadly, this is not an uncommon request, but this is just my second year and it's a first for me. I felt terrible that I didn't have a suggestion for her right off the top of my head. Any ideas?
