Hi Friends- I am interested in buying an article of shelving for my elementary school library media center which I believe is called a BIN. I want a way to display our paperback picturebooks so that youngsters can easily look through a sizable collection. What I am picturing is a child height item of furniture (2 1/2 ft tall perhaps) with about four bins on one or two sides on the top in which picturebooks rest at semi-vertical (depending how full they are) angles. Kids look through these from above. The bottom shelf, a few inches above the floor, is traditional, and could hold books stacked in the usual manner. This item of shelving might be square with four bins or rectangular with six or eight. Has anyone seen such an item in a catalog or do you know a furniture vendor who could supply one? I hate to get into the expense of custom building, and I know I have seen these in public libraries. It's difficult when you know exactly what you want... Thank you.
