Last year, our first graders came once a week, set time, for both lesson
and checkout. (our first year with flex.sched). In addition, we scheduled
a second checkout time for when they came to the computer lab, which is in
the library. This year I'd like to suggest to them to keep the scheduled
lesson-checkout time and have two other set checkout times. Then next
year, we may be able to checkout whenever the students want/need to.

As far as with the other grades, it really depended on the teacher. If you
would like more specific ideas of how the different teachers handled this
change to open checkout, let me know. :)
