Dear Friends, School is out, so it's time to return to my research paper. I'm doing research on electronic encyclopedias, more specifically, the search engines. Is anyone familiar with the CD-ROM versions of Collier's and Encyclopedia Americana? Please send any info you might have. I would prefer Mac versions, but PC would do. Another question---has anyone tried the Mac version of the 1997 World Book? I just received it and it is verrrrry slow! I allocated more memory and turned virtual memory on and off--and it is still slow. I'm using it on a Mac 5200/75----every other version of encyclopedia I'm using is fast, so I'm sure it's not the machine. The others I have are Encarta, Compton's, Grolier, Infopedia and Britannica. If anyone has any comments about the latest versions of those, please email them to me. Thanks for all your help!
