GEN: Research on students authoring web pages

Forgive me if this is an unwelcome intrusion from a non-school media person,
but I have a question I hope someone has had experience with.

Does anyone know of published research assessing students' educational
benefits from writing web pages?  I'm thinking of benefits in terms of
increased critical thinking skills, organization of information, etc.

Please reply off-list if that is appropriate.
