SEC: Individual Books on Countries

I am looking to replace my books on countries.  We have Lands and Peoples
and World Geography as sets but I need to throw out all my Time-Life books
on individual countries--they are really out-of-date.

Does anyone have a suggestion for secondary school?  The only thing I can
find is Cultures of the World by Marshall Cavendish and Enchantment of the
World by Children's Press/Franklin Watts.  Has anyone used these or does
anyone have any suggestions?
