I would appreciate advice from those of you who have access to electronic text available in your libraries. I have some support from the current administration to pursue spending $ to make this service available to students and staff in both K-5 and 6-12 libraries. We are networked, and have access to the Internet from the libraries, several labs, and a small number of classrooms. We are on one campus, with about 700 students in each building. There is no money for additional equipment to dedicate to running a CDROM application, and we are not able to network CDROMs at this time. I have heard great things about Infonautics's Electric Library, which could be accessed through Netscape. What service do you recommend? What magazines do you recommend be ordered on a subscription basis? Our 6-12 LMC has never been used the way it could/should be, and has been without a certified LMS during the current school year. I would like to make research inviting and "easy" for both students and staff... Please respond directly to me. If there is enough interest I will post a Hit, but not until end-of-year stuff is done! Thanks for your help. :-) Marbeth Cornelius Library Media Specialist Silver Creek CSD Silver Creek, NY 14136 marbeth_cornelius@slcr.wnyric.org
