Hello again,
Well, I seem to have several comments at once. In reference to the AR
discussion, I want to add that our district uses Follett Software's
That's A Fact, Jack. We find this reading motivation software to meet
our needs better than AR because we don't want our students to merely
read a book and then take a multiple-choice test as a way to earn points
or get a grade. We want our students to read a book and be able to think
about it critically.

TFJ allows one or more students to participate in a game show format.
The questions ask a student to think and analyze the book by having them
use specific reasons from the text to support an answer, much like the
Great Books Discussion format that was popular years ago.

Another selling point is that we feel TFJ offers intrinsic rewards to
the students and motivates them to read more, rather than extrinsic
rewards. I am not against extrinsic rewards for short term programs, but
hesitate to use them long term. The book selection for this software is
great.

No, I do not sell this software, but I am *sold* on this software. If
you want more info, please e-mail.

Vicki
