Gen: Best Adult Read

I just finished reading Cold Mountain, by Charles Frazier. It is one of the
best novels I have ever read.  It is his first novel; historical fiction
;Civil War ; North Carolina mountain setting. He creates the most powerful
imagery, description,  and characters.  I hated to finish it... felt as
though I was losing some very good friends.  I will be amazed if this one
doesn't make it to the best seller list.
