We have been using Accelerated Reader at our school for several years and
added STAR this year.  We tested all the classes at mid-year and all the
teachers were really impressed.  They said that STAR seemed to be right on
target at accessing reading levels.  We are planning to re-test in May to
see what improvement has been made.  There is a diagnostic test that we
used in Dec. and we will use the growth report in May.  It has many
wonderful features including a parent report.  It also tells you what zone
or levels or appropriate for the students reading AR books.
