Laserdisc

I am working on an article for School Library Journal about the use of
laserdisc in the classroom.  I've talked with several teachers but I
would like to hear from a few media specialists about how viable this
medium is now, given all of the competing technologies.  Where is
laserdisc best used?  Are you holding out on software/hardware purchses
pending the advent of DVD?  IS CD-ROM becoming the be-all and end-all for
your teachers?  How are you advising others?  What are your favorite
videodisc titles?

Any response is welcome, and I may be able to use it in the article.
