Dear LM_NET members. We are a charter middle school and one of goals is to raise reading comprehension test scores. Does anyone know where we can find definitive research that lists proven techniques used in schools that raised reading comprehension test scores on standardized tests? Unfortunately we are not talking about instilling a love of reading.....just raising test scores. I am hoping that I will find research that supports reading good literature improves test scores; not just going over the reading comprehension skills in the classroom, Also, does anyone have definitive research about Accelerated Reader improving test scores...not antecdotal. Everyone has an opinion... I need research. I don't want to start a heated argument or debate about this topic(improving reading test scores)....I just need some help finding definitive research. I will post a hit. Thanks In Advance!
